All things Bundy and Ya favourite drinking Dits
Howdy all, I have decided to rebadge this topic . It is a popular one and now with the previous one being deleted I'll start this one up. First off when is an overseas beer an overseas beer?, one would have thought that, to qualify, the beer would have to be made in the country of its origin. Not the case according to a current affair, so many of those foreign drops are made here in good old aussie . Once again you must read the fine print . I cant remember them all but Guiness was one along with Becks. They charge the imported rate for these beers and just another way of big business screwing with us. Please write your favourite dits on this thread, I know I have plenty and will get a few going in the next couple of days and the ORANGE MM (Jaffa) will have a few as will you Cliff, so get out your slates and crayons. Regards Quinny

Bundy rum is from Bundeberg.
The great rum is made in Bundeberg but the company is foreign owned but I'll still drink it anyway since it so tasty. I have been to the Guiness storehouse in Dublin and all the Guinesses all over the world are made there and then exported. the water they use is from the Wicklow Mountains and the best Guiness you can buy is the stuff you only get in Ireland. so get yourself over there if you can't get enough of the black stuff in a pint.

A lot of Guiness is made over in Ireland to be sure to be sure but please read the fine print on the next bottle you pick up and You will find it may well be made under licence here in good old aussie. These days with big business the average consumer is treated like a mushroom, and they skate on very thin ice when it comes to all things legal and interpret the laws and work them to their own advantage . In the coming days I'll get down to the bottle shop and read a few of these labels and write up and post a list, but they are out there. Bundy might be foreign owned but its Australian made using Aussie workers and our own sugar there is a subtle Difference .

The only Guinness sold here that is made in Ireland , is the "self gassing " cans with the "widget thingy". All other Guinn ess , bottles and draught is made by good old Mr Carlton and his mate United under licence . :?

Ha boys, it would be great if you could do bundy by home brew?

Ta for clearing that up Jaffa and yes would'nt we all like a still at home. Craig,I did'nt listen too well to the story on a Current Affair when it came on during the week as I was on the phone and missed a lot of it, but for years I thought all the foreign beers were imported. How wrong was I and I can remember thinking why would we want to import beer - we have some very fine drops made right here .
