Bitten On the Arse
Just thought I'd tell you about this one. Some time ago' well after I left the grey funnel line, I went and got further education and obtained a degree in behavioral and social science. In 1999 it lead to a job where I worked with families . One of my duties was to ensure the kids were given access to their natural parents. (can you see where this is going). I arranged my first contact visit and the day came for the child to visit his mother. The mother was a somewhat drug f****ed individual. I knocked on the caravan door and the woman answered. I started to introduce myself and was rudely interrupted by her. She said, "I know you". of course I could not see how we had ever met and told her just that. She said, "no let me think and I will remember". I had a quite laugh to myself as with her history of drug taking any form of memory, i thought, would have been erased. Then out of the blue she says, "YOUR EX NAVY". I went silent, grey, began to sweat and was somewhat faint. then she says. "YOU WERE A COOK". I felt my heart stop. My god I thought, this is a wind up The next thing, she is sprouting names of people she had seen me with at friscos and rockers. Of coarse, I was in a position were any suspicion of a misspent youth could be very detrimental to ongoing work with this person. So, I began to make excuses. First I said yes that's correct and I know all those people but that was some years ago and I am a very different person now. Again she interrupted me. "I've seen you pissed staggering around being a prick. I seen you do stuff that you would not like your wife to know about". (little did she know I had told my wife everything before we were married, ha ha). By this stage I was wet with sweat. The she said, "Thank f*** for that at least I know your normal, not like some of the others I have had". Well I'd just like to say If my Pussers life was normal I'm a pretty boring kind of bloke now. Talk about the past coming back to haunt. Any one else had this type of experience.
