Are there any other's who had the idignity of being sold as a cherie boy while up top? I was very young in '87 and my PO and most of the other cooks thought it would be fun. I didn't really care as I had the best time without dipping into my pocket. I was a bit annoyed that when I finished the job I was paying for my piss while they all had freebies. Those responsible know who you are.

Well.... I think it was the real deal. the person in question had an innie. But who knows? The bottom line is I had a ball and when I came down stairs there sitting with big smiles on their faces were 2 senior cooks with a bennie between them practicing his nordic skiing technique with the 2 most handiest poles he could grab. Very amusing.

Yes Beannies wernt they the go after a few sherberts got a few phots somewhere with a beannie on my lap.Things have sure changed now i often wonder what a trip up top would be like these days youd be shit scared to have a naughty because of the aids scare No problems like that in those early days .

I remember being told to visit Virgins Corner in Honkers to be guarranteed the greatest time of my life by my older brother Peter (ex L/Cook)....So the first chance I got on arrival was to thunder off by myself (I wasn't sharing this magic experience) You can imagine my horror to find that after being escorted into a dark alley that I was taken advantage of by a bunch of old chinese chooks the youngest of which would have been about 70 years of age and they were really aggressive..My brother always had a mongrel sense of humor.

Cherries Beenies and Aids
My first trip aids was just starting to be spoken about. Some took it serious others thought it was not much to worry about. My second trip was a little different. Aids was talked about alot. Still some people did not take too much care. My mum gave me some dingers to take with me that had that aids killing stuff on them. (how embarrasment). I can still remember the PO Medic giving the ships company some character guidance and showing us all pics of rotten dicks. It was enough to give one NSU from the worry of squeezing up. Still both trips were alot of fun most of the time.
