civvies are a weird mob after 20 years in pussers and having been out some 16 years now i have come to the conclusion that civvies certainlyare a wierd mob They have a different sense of values and really worry to much about petty issues talk about whinge. Even after all these years i still find it hard to get on with them This was never talked about i n any resettlment seminars that i attended I have found it very difficult to adjust with the civilan way of life deep down i think im still a sailor the old saying YOU CAN TAKE A SAILOR OUT OF THE NAVY BUT NOT THE NAVY OUT OF THE SAILOR certainly rings true with me as it would with a lot of you By coming onto this notice board it gives me the opportunity to talk with ex cooks and i enjoy that immensley there is something to be said about the friend ships that i made in the navy they have stood the test of time thats for sure I think that civvies never get to know that bond that all sailors share I certainly miss that by becoming a civvie now it has been rekindled via this notice board I look forward to being a regular contributer The popularity of this board gives us all the opprtunity to speak to mates you havent heard from in years so to all yoo cookie monsters out there keep well and best regards from the rabbiter

civvies I have to agree with you about civvies, I too done 20 years and have been out 6 now and the civvie cooks that I work with have no sense of mateship or working in a team. It gets a bit disheartening when all they are worried about is themselves and themselves only.

civies are a weird mob Ta for that mate im glad i wasnt the only one who has these views
ithink one of the main reasons i retired was that as i was the boss of the kitchen in most of the places i worked I just couldnt handle it to well so i thought stuff it .yes it is very disheartining you either grin and bear it or get right out of it I just do a lot of voluntary work with my local aussie rules team and each Wednesday i drive the community bus for the oldies Ive still got to deal with civvies but i can manage it on my terms.keep well mate and hang in there
best wihes quinny

totally agree! I have only been working with this other female chef for about a month or so and I wonder where her head is at. She comes to work after having 3 weeks off (1 week before her holidays because she is sick) the other 2 weeks for her actual holidays. and she is vommitting in the bin on several occasions in one morning. She was bitching about the people she works with before she went on holidays and since she was sooooo guilty and stressed about it that it made her really sick. she has not got a good work ethic, shes in too much of hurry to get out at ythe end of her shift and she doesn't pull her weight. I wish she would do us all a favour and hand in her notice then we could find someone who can do the job properly.

Quinny,
Tell Morgs to resubmit and I will fix up his membership with the forum.
I have knocked back the last 9 new members because they were just spammers ranging from Sex Workers to Medical Sales.
Unfortunately Morgs with no details arrived at the same time as the above.
He can keep his addresses etc in his profile hidden - all we really need to know is basically the info that you provided.
Noel
I placed my last message and did'nt get your reply until I got home - next job up the coast I will drop in 8)

Can't wait...... My next boss is the head chef from the Naked fish on the Strand in Townsville. He is from Gloustershire. Geez I hope hes a nice bloke I stand working for arrogant males especiallly when I will probably be the only female shef in the kitchen. That female chef I was moaning on about yesterday well she may be preggers. We have come to that conclusion don't worry I will be doing the split shift with her tomorrow so I'll ask all the questions she doesn't want to hear. Then again I might go easy on her. But she does shit me.....
mmmmm only time will tell
JudyGarland- 10-28-2006
Shit Cliff did you say sex workers whats wrong with them. I still think about it and try.
CliffWhatley- 10-28-2006
Sorry Jude,
No offence meant to anybody, I just thought the Sex workers would be far too upmarket compared to what we hung around with.
 wtf pirate
