Forwarding 'FW' or Mass Email Sending It is with deep regret, that I have had to post this and really hope those who send 'FW' mail will understand.
Few years ago now, I received a nasty virus on my machine when I opened which appeared to be an innocent 'funny' email from a forum friend, and which was obviously sent to all members on their contact list. Evident by the many email addresses shown at the top of the email?
Now, please understand, that I now have a program integrated into my mail filter to block, bounce FW mail.
So unless it is personal, and to me and me only, one on one contact, it'll go in a blacklist.
The reason being, you only need one 'contact' or 'address book' list compromised on one PC, then you can get malicious mail sent to all your contacts without you even knowing it may contain a virus.
This is from experience, the nasty virus I once blocked was addressed from a sender at .gov.au.
They had no idea they had sent the virus, actually they didn't, it was that their mail addresses were hacked by someone who got in and zapped their PC's.
So when someone sends me an email FW, when I read it I am but a link in the chain know what I mean.
So when the next person reads it after me, and they happen to get malicious mail?....they believe it was me who sent it.
So some of you are probably wondering why I am bouncing your mail?....from experience have found this to be pretty dangerous practice being up on someones address book to be sent mass emails.
I call it Mass Email rather than FW or Forward mail, because it's virtually one person sending an email to everyone of their contacts in their mail program, and not one on one.
Virus's can be sent through JPG or Image shots on static mail pages these days, without actually opening an Attachment.
So please do not be offended, if you have something to say to me via email, make it just you to me or vice versa, and please not to the masses. Thanks, hope you understand.

Nicely put Paul, I have had the same problem in the past and trying to explain the situation without offending people is difficult.

Yet again, I'm getting FW mail in my inbox, so much so I am deleting my email link on this site.
If you have something to say to ME, make it personal, to ME, and not to everyone else at the same time.
I have never opened FW mail because I don't enjoy reading all the BS flying around and it has been a huge security risk where all recipients in the contact lists have contracted a virus from one user who didn't have a decent Anti Virus program on his/her PC.
I've even seen virus's come from .gov.au addresses where people get in to others contact lists and Forward mail to multiple addresses.
I have enough on my plate without other peoples interests being thrown at me.
So no more sorries from this black duck folks, 'one on one' is my game.
Anything else gets thrown overboard without being opened.

Re; FW (Forwarded) Mail.....
All I'm asking is, please, those who have contact lists and do send mail to mass or multiple recipients, take me off their contact list and respect that I do not want to participate in their idea of fun.
I'm not interested in mass or FW mail, everything I want to know on the internet is on the BBC News homepage IF I want to go there, or Google search, IF I want to go there???
There a billions of funnies, smut and porn sites on the internet, if I want to go there?
I don't need my mailbox clogged up with 'funny' stuff other people have found.
The only time I will read FW mail is when it comes from Cliffy as an important Admin bulletin for example.

I go along with what you are saying Paul, I am still getting the same sort of stuff and the same worn out so called jokes after they've already been around for years in some cases. (from about 6 different senders all sending the same stuff)
You have a good way of putting it down in plain easy to understand language mate.
I don't even open those emails now, I just delete them.

why dont you download a free program called mail washer which lets you view the incoming emails before they open in your inbox and you can blacklist any senders you dont want in your mail then you wont be bothered by the fowarders .. it is a free download and has a automatic install so it makes it easy for you. we use it on our business emails as well as our home email. and have been for the last few years .never had a problem with it. also another excellent free download for virus protection is AVG free. also WINDOWS DEFENDER is a good one from microsoft. they all are compatable with each other . i have them all on my computer and have never had a virus come in they block them before they get. all have automatioc upgrades. AVG adress is http://free.grisoft.com/...
Mailwasher info site and download is...http://www.mailwasher.net/.. windows defender..http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx hope that this can be of help. regards Johnno
