hi cliff and crew, thank you for putting photos up for me the first photo of us rawbone recruits was in 1961 first leave after 6 weeks in recruit school and Pixie Park is still one of my best oppos after all these years. I spent 15 months on ANZAC 1961 /63 and many a pissy run run with a lot of great steppin oppos of all ranks got up to a lot of mischief and as you all know cooks are the real gentle well mannered well behaved gentlemen of pussers and lead the way for all. when i first went to the zac ab/cook robo robinson took me under his wing and showed me whats what . thank christ as i was a cocky little bastard at the time. anyway i spent 3 and half years in pussers and it was the best time of my life and i met some of the best oppos in the world in that time and when i was dropped back into civvie street i had a bastard of a time re adjusting much harder that ajusting into pussers . all civvies are dxxck heads and i still havn't changed my mind on that after 44 years . i will now drop some names of great stepping oppos i have had the pleasure of knowing and had their guidance and experience to help me . Yes a lot of legends there johnno And a good few of them will be at the reunion Yes mate civvies take a bit of getting used to and its not easy after you've done 20 .I started a thread on this subject Under the heading CIVVIES ARE A WEIRD MOB well worth a read its still on the site keep well and Pixie will be at the reunion i spent man years at the tross with him.We were both in the Buffalo lodge as were quite a few cooks in those days and had many an ale together i will too be on the soft stuff at the reunion as i gave up the grog 12 years ago since i was last drunk i only have one or 2 lights these days and thats on the very rare occasion Keep well mate regards quinny

hi Quinny many memories stored in the old brain things come flooding back and i have a chuckle to myself. Pixie and I were at cerebus together then we went to the tross with wayne spinnaze then we were together on the Zac then back to the tross for awhile then Pixie went to the west . i didnt see him again until 1988 in nowra and it was just as if i spoke to him the day before .stayed at his house for a week or so and saw Danny Orielly before he went to the big galley in the sky. what a man he was.. and loved a drink or two. then we found Jim Carey another stepping oppo from the Zac and the tross (X2) he now lives here in qld and is still a good mate and we have been keeping in touch since 88 he will be at the reunion with me. trying to get pixie to stay with us as I only live 40 minutes away from the reunion at caloundra. and will travel up and back everyday. certainly looking foward to meeting you and having a chinwag . and seeing a lot of old faces. take care old mate best wishes johnno
