HMAS CASTLEMAINE GALLEY REBUILD G'day Errol
We are volunteers on the "Museum Ship Castlemaine".
Hope you have a great re-union.
We saw the advance notice, and decided to ask whether there is any way we could appeal to your members for pictures, diagrams, drawings etc of Galleys, and/or Kitchen gear that would have been used in the wartime Corvettes.
We have been given $20,000 to re-instate our Galley authentically.
We have an official website www.hmascastlemaine.com and am working on an unofficial one
http://mc2vicnet.net.au/home/hmascast/index.html
We have posted some pics of the current galley, and a couple AWM pics on the second.
Clicking on that link will allow you to view the Photos & Shared Files we have so far. click on red items {shared files or photos> under group features in left column.
Hope this contact is ok by you.

Went and visited the old girl at Williamstown last year and she is looking good.
Could'nt get onboard though because the ship was closed for visits.
She looks a whole lot better than she looked at Cerberus where my recruit class had to do part of our Survival at Sea Training from her by jumping into Westernport Bay alongside at Cerberus. cold

From memory I think the site about the Castlemaine is run by the Local Council.
I remember sending a few minor corrections about an article regarding the date when we got our own White Ensign and it was the Council Website that replied.
(I think the Local Council hosts quite a few sites on behalf of tourist attractions in the area.)
