Looking at the date you posted this Cliffy, don't think I was a member back then. Ripper site mate, good catch! Had a quick read of it, reckon if I was a sea-man back then would surely have been either hung, or a regular Jack bloody Sparrow (Pirate).

I spend a lot of time there when I need to know something. nerd It certainly explains a lot of the origins and traditions of things. I think the Royal Canadian Navy has even copied it to it's own site not all that long ago. It was compiled by a two and a half back in 1956.

Also some other traditions that I learnt about recently come from Lord Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar. the British Navy have alot to answer for.

Preaching to the converted Lindsay I worked in Wardrooms for my first few years in pussers .Then I got a job change to the Main Galley at the 'Tross no more dos and better access to Rabbits
