My name is Neil Penny. I spent 6 years in, first two as an MTH and the last 4 as a slopjockey, paid off in '85. Served on the Stalwart, Melbourne, Vampire, Cerberus (of course), Nirimba (bloody apps), Harmon and Creswell (bloody grunters).
Left pussers, did an architectural drafting diploma and worked in Sydney as a contract draftsman till '93 when I was asked to come to Singers to help build a hotel, designed kitchens on the side. Got headhunted and lived in Bangkok designing kitchens and equipment for hotels.
Married a Singaporean girl, settled in Sydney for a couple of years, designing kitchens on the side again, and headed back up here to Singers.
Currently working for an American Architecture practice as a 'designer' and I am the companies F&B expert. Currently studying for a degree in business administration part time and will open my own commercial kitchen design practice when I finish.
I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today if I did not join pussers. I owe the NAVY a lot and miss it every day.
I have been threatening for quite a while to go to one of the reunions and I will.......eventually LOL

Hey all, my name is Tony Barr. I joined '83 as a junior recruit and paid off as a LSCK in '94. I served in Leeuwin, Cerberus, Nirimba, Supply, Harman, Coonawarra, Geelong, Harman again, Watson, Newcastle and finally paid off at Kutts.
I had an absolute ball most of the time and even though I have been out for 14 years it still feels like yesterday. Great to see a site just for cooks to catch up on.
I did find the site a bit hard to find though. Dru Wellings ex LSCK as well, told me about a site called maingalley something LOL which pointed me the right way.
Can't make the reunion next week which is a bugger but maybe the next one in 2010 if it is running every 2 years.

Yes welcome tony when you get the chance you can add your profile to your posts .Just go back to the main page and under the phot you will find Profile Just click on this and fill in the details and Its easy peasy .Yes we look like making the reunion every two years.
At this stage we have over 400 attending and as this is my first reunion Im looking forward Two things i say to all new members of the site Is.
(1) you can take the cook out of the Navy but not the Navy out of the cook .
(2)As cooks we are all bonded by that invisible thread of friendship That the Navy instilled in all of us from day one.
Keep well and welcome to the site best regards Quinny
