Thanks for that Cliff, we both have been in the good paddock. One day when I'm not so busy I will write some of my favourite dits. I've shared the odd schooner with Rastes over the years. I'm trying to get him to come to the Reunion but dont know as yet. When I asked him he did'nt seem all that interested. We have been mates for some 30 odd years such is the bond of friendship that we have in pussers its good that you put that on the site should have a few hits on it so bravo zulu to you big fella Regards Quinny

Quinny, Say gidday to Rastes for me, we served on Moresby back in 78/79. Back then Rastes was king of the gashies and rocked liked Elvis. His hair has changed a bit. Never forget the time Rastes did this big swan dive off the flight deck into the sea snake and croc infested waters of the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf. Luckily the tide wasn't doing to much and we got him back onboard to live another day.

I spent a few very cold weekends down at Golden Square with my aunty in the early seventies when i was on the Vendetta. cold Quinny, yep it was brass monkey weather last night and this morning lucky I had the other halfs car which has a great heater. My twin cab runs on gas and take ages for heater to do anything. Evening Quinny, I remember all of the cooks in the photos. I was an AVN before I changed to a cook. Were these photos taken on the England trip? I worked in the Main Galley for work experience for half of the trip. I am NOT the AVN in in photo. Cheers Mark :lol:
