Yes John thanks for starting this thread I will write a brief Out line about the reunion and i hope others will follow suit .First off let me say on behalf of my wife Karen and big thank you to those Who put this thing together.
I met so many people that i hadn't met for many years as did we all it was very pleasing to meet so many that i had never met before. Those who i have seen on this forum Whom i had never met it was good to finally put some names to faces, or vice versa .
One thing of concern to me is that i missed out on talking to a few there were a few i wanted to catch up with and to those out there who i didn't catch up with Theres always the next reunion .
A great lot of have changed and it was hard to Recognize a lot of you there were plenty that hadn't changed and still looked as they did when i left pussers some 17 years ago (Lucky Barstards ) Strabs you come readily to mind as do you Leon Barnes .
Chris Franklin how good was he. I was laughing so much I was nearly crying as was our whole table. To the whingers out there that said they didnt get value for money I say hum bug .I would have paid plenty to see him .The Scran was nice and plenty of it and The duffs were good, so Quinny was happy with that .My eyes were bigger than my guts and i took two more potatoes than i should have .
He sold his DVDS at cost and that was also a bonus So thankyou chris .And he done the gig at cost also as he was coming to the reunion also .
Sure there were some minor hiccups over bar prices in different bars and That was sorted out .All in all Everyone behaved themselves and i didnt see one bit of annimosity or ill feeling on any ones behalf we all pulled ourt heads in and let bygones be bygones and it made for a very pleasn,t evening or should i say weekend .
No axes to grind and friendly lively conversation and plenty of warries told .The breaky at the race track was good also and it the only time i have ever been at the races and not seen a race i think there were plenty of us like that we were so caught up with catching up That the races were on and i didnt even see one of them .There was plenty of time to catch up with people and even as late as yesterday morning i Was meeting people.
I was at Maccas having breaky and I had my cooks badge on and this bloke Said Good morning chef I didnt know him and i Went up and Shook his hand and he was Tony Ordelman He lives here in Adelaide and we had a nag as you do and no doubt we will catch up again. It was that type of weekend .New friends made and old ones met it dosent get any better than that .
There were plenty of phots taken And i will post some of these shortly A few people running around with video cameras also and if at all possible i would love to see one of those posted on site.
Karen made some Appreciation Certificates up for those that helped in an way with the reunion and these were supposed to be presented on the Sunday but some how they were forgotten But Errol assures me that these will be forwarded to the worthy recipients in due course .
In Closing this little dit I would once again like to thank all the organizers who helped make the 08 reunion the success that it was A big BRAVO ZULU to all concerned Regards Quinny and Karen
