Problems logging on?
If you are having problems, click on the FAQ Tab at the top of the page. It is full of Q's & A's with just about everything covered. eg - Rags Medlock is having a few problems trying to log on to this forum and hopefully he may be able to find an answer there. If not (or if I can't fix it), I will ask for help directly from the forum provider. PC literate members are welcome to provide suggestions if all else fails.

A couple of members have told me that they can't log in until they get the parents of guardians permission. The following is from the FAQ section which is accessed by clicking on the Tab at the top of the page. I registered but cannot log in! First check that you are entering the correct username and password. If they are okay then one of two things may have happened: if COPPA support is enabled and you clicked the I am under 13 years old link while registering then you will have to follow the instructions you received. If this is not the case then maybe your account need activating. Some boards will require all new registrations be activated, either by yourself or by the administrator before you can log on. When you registered it would have told you whether activation was required. If you were sent an email then follow the instructions; if you did not receive the email then check that your email address is valid. One reason activation is used is to reduce the possibility of rogue users abusing the board anonymously. If you are sure the email address you used is valid then try contacting the board administrator. Any emails you get with these problems are not usually from me...they are automatically generated by the forum providers and they stick my name on the end as the Administrator.

More info with the logging on problems. I got the following from the forum providers site, and it appears to be happening across the entire network. (involving many different forums) Forumer is currently aware of the problem you are experiencing. This bug has been categorized as: CRITICAL BUG, and rest assured, Forumer is working hard to fix it. The problem you appear to be experiencing at the moment is: Login / White Page Bug. Please keep in mind only Limez can fix the problem. Promoters and Moderators just report the problem. We (Promoters and Moderators) are working hard as can be to contain the problem. We have notified Limez through an advanced bug report system, as well as email, and PM. As soon as he receives notification, please expect the problem to be fixed. However, bugs take a while to fix- your patience is appreciated.

Several oppo's at the reunion mentioned to me that they can't log in to the forum. It should be a simple procedure with your username and password required for access. I think it would be a good idea if you recorded your password somewhere for future reference. Remember that any dashes, slashes, dots, spaces and capitals used with your log-in details are the ones that the system remembers. ie - you won't be able to log in if you forget to use the original. The FAQ (frequently asked questions) tab at the top of your screen under the main heading may solve a few of the problems with forum access. click here :- http://maingalley.14.forumer.com/faq.php If you still can't log in, just email me about it and I will assign a new password to get you in again. (you can change it to whatever you want after you log in) Regards Cliff

The forum has been out of action since yesterday. (logging in brought up a blank screen). This is the message that was/is displayed at the bottom of the main page:- The login system on the forum is currently not working (blank screen). Server administrators are aware of this issue and are working to fix this. Within 24 hours this will be fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you, Forumer.com Staff Fortunately it is all fixed and everything should be back to abnormal. wtf

New Members
Apologies to potential new Forum members. Yesterday we had about 15 new applicants to join the forum. ME, thinking they were spammers - deleted them. It was only this morning that I opened an email about the next re-union that I realized that most of these were not spammers. I really apologize for messing you around and could you please send me an abusive email to put things right again. It is just that the 15 applicants arrived in one hit as opposed to about one per week. (1)

Mate, haven't had a spammer (auto bot or otherwise) in my forum since implementing KittenAuth registration 'game'....

Folks having login problems please take note; I am not suggesting that there IS definately a problem at your end (on your PC) however, it helps to be up to date so it eliminates the possibility that it is. What I'm getting at is this, I set up many peoples PC's for internet browsing and the first thing I do once online is dump Microsoft default browsers and Java. Time to upgrade to Sun Java which is much more stable than MS Java. And would highly recommend the latest version of Mozilla Firefox once you've done so if you choose to take my advice. S..ts all over IE. I have these running and yet to find a site that I can't access. The other possibility is that you have a very over zealous Firewall program which prevents certain website scripts from loading on your PC, or stopping Cookies from particular sites. Any questions on these matters please don't hesitate to drop a thread in the PC H.E.L.P. section right down the bottom of the Forum. Cheers,

Change of email address
Hello there, I was wondering how I can change my email address, as I have tried but it tells me that I cannot as my new email address does not match my current email address. I am about to get rid of my email address I have for this webiste and require to place a new one in there. Can you help with this? Cheers Tony Vesco

CliffWhatley- 10-05-2007

Tony, I have had a look and this is the only procedure I can find at this stage. How do I change my settings? All your settings (if you are registered) are stored in the database. To alter them click the Profile link (generally shown at the top of pages but this may not be the case). This will allow you to change all your settings. It is in the FAQ section here :- http://maingalley.14.forumer.com/faq.php In the interim i will have a look behind the scenes.:?

Paul_Dibby- 10-05-2007

I/we can do it in Admin Cliffy....will go have a look, Tony, please send the email address to me via Private Message and I'll change in Admin ok....cheers.
