love this s.... Oh the memories. Steppin' after a 2nd duty. Started with a doby (don't mind the spelling). Can't find my own doby gear so I'll get some pussers hard. Head back down the mess and get in to my steppin gear. It's now about 1400 and I'm headin to frisco's bugger rockers, if you want to be promoted frisco's is the place to be. Now absolutely shattered and staggering back on board. heading strait to my rack to catch some Zeds. Bloody hell, I'm gunna do that again the next day and the next and so on. The morning has come. Duty watch. Head up to the main, breaky, scambled egg, bacon, lambs fry and bacon, crumbed brains, might have two fried flipped, cook em myself, where's the mums cu__, RNers will do. Whats on the menu for duty watch? Evening Scran, Geez I feel crook! Steak and piss strainer pie. Corn dog, and a sloppy, spag bowl. What are the Duffs? Blank Wank, who cares about the rest. I'm dry as a nun's you know what. Let my Kellick know I'm getting a goffa. Tomorrow's breaky, train smash yippie beans left over spag bowl turned into savoury mince and scrambled eggs and fried eggs to order. Whats on for 2nd duty. ROAST thank god. Start throwing bags of spuds through the hobart. and peeling the other veg. The victualers didn't send up the piss strainers, Kellick heads off to the victualing bin to sort it out. All the prep done scran cooked an fished. Pull down the line and scub out. time to hit the rack. Up early for breakie. the other 2 or 3 watches arrive at about 0730. breakie over pull down line 3rd duty tells us to go they'll fix it up. I'm going ashore. Not again.
Thats just my recollection of life along side at GI.

Seems too damn normal to me Snelly Mind you mate i hit the rack for a few hours after me duty then it was step ashore with the 2 and 3rd duty.Pussers hard always good sliced and put on a tray of sangers for the unsuspecting dibbys .

maybe a jack tar staggering over the gangway after a few rum and cokes asking the quartermaster for his watch card after a run in with the crushers ashore ..falling down the hatch into his mess .. been there done that . :oops: also lost me fightin gear overboard will have to borrow yours kippy or quinnys Ok! :?: regards johnno
