Refilling ink cartridges
Not sure where to post this but here goes!!!! Refilling ink cartridges CLI-8, PGI-5 Cartridges I used to have a canon printer that I was able to refill the small cartridges. A few months ago I purchased a Canon PIXMA MP510, which was reasonably cheap but uses lots and lots of ink…..very expensive!!!!!! I tried all ways to refill these cartridges without success, until I finally found this site that gave me all the instructions. http://www.inksupply.com/html/pdf/can_cli8_pgi5refill.pdf Armed with a box of tissues, a partly used Calidad 100ml refill, a sewing pin, and a syringe, some black insulation tape (that electrical tape stuff) and the instructions I headed outside. (I didn’t want black ink all over the house). The only thing I did different was not to punch the little rubber ball back into the cartridge; I used the sewing pin to prize it out. Then popped it back in. Didn’t have to buy anything special for the operation. For those who find printing expensive give this a go. By the way, depending on your printer, you have to disable the ink monitor or else the machine won’t print. I guess I am telling some of you what you already know

Yes thanks for that Kippy i will throw me hat in the ring on this Karens dad is a retired printer and Refills a lot of his cartridges .But like you has trouble filling these newer type cartridges not no more thanks to your dit i will forward that site to him. I have just bought a new printer also and i have a chap that supplies me with generic ink Some of the newer printers althogh initially cheap as you so rightly said Kippy cost a motza to buy the refills. Before i went and bought a new printer I asked my ink supplier which printer will take the generic refills there are only a few on the market that do now I get all my cartridges 100 ml At $6.50 thats black and colour i run t 3 colour and 1 black in my printer .He advised me which printer to get so i could take advantage of the generic ink which is just as good as the named brands . I went to tandys and they had good printers going out at 70 bucks but hold ya knackers when you want the ink Colour $49.95 And black $35 95 .So i asked which one takes a generic refill he said none at the moment. I then went and seen my mate who has been suppling my ink and the ink to many people and businesses and he put me on to the make and model i needed Cost me 120 bucks a little more expensive than the the one on special Tandy's But the saving will be in the long run. I do a lot of printing and a set of cartridges will generally only last a month or so I have kids also That are always doing photo shop prints etc . There is a conspiracy going on with these printing manufacturers and quite often the money they make is not at the point of sale its the continual supply of ink Thats where they make their dough .Any way Kippy thanks for that and as always something constructive to say keep up the good posts Regards Quinny

Another good website is: www.wholesaletoner.com.au The quality is very good, they do an overnight delivery (free) and have generic cartridges for Canon, /Hp , Brother ,Lexmark and Epsom printer machines. I think I ended up paying about $46.00 for 2x black and 1 ea of the colours. Food for thought !!!!
