Computers.
It Just Goes To Show, If They Had These Things {Computers} When
We Were In Pusses We Would Have All Been Promoted.

Welcome Studs,
Most of what you say is pretty true about not many posters, but as long as they read , i don't mind. the stats say that quite a lot of members have a look, but don't put anything up. (thank god for Quinny keeping the forum alive)
The biggest news item that all are interested in is the Re-union update usually from Errol .
Roll on the 2008 Re-Union.

G'day Studs.
One thing I have been aware of for some time with Forums, not all folks know how to type? So consequently they're hesitant to get stuck in.
For those who read this and are a bit hesitant to post, just remember we all learned to crawl before we walked.
I only learnt how to type some 7 years ago, got a program from the local TAFE and without being able to type, internet use would be a pain in the a..e.
Also some may not know how to even post, by clicking on Reply, and the Submit.
Don't be embarassed for petes sake!, we all have to start somewhere and I'm certain all members will be more than happy to offer support and understanding.

Yes Studs and i can only echo Berkys seniments it's a good site and it does get a bit stale from time to time, as with a lot of sites you will always get more readers than contributors.
I mentioned this one time to Cliff and he says thats generally the way.
Me myself i love writing letters and receiving them and its good to catch up with people.
I have only been computer literate for 15 months now i am self taught none of these typing courses for me just started with small steps look at me now no one on this site will be to critical of ya we are all cooks and I'll will always be a better cook than a typist so don't go beating yourself up over it and I for one look forward to your submissions so welcome Studs.
Your name rings a bell, can't ever remember serving with you but my memory is not what it was.
Not a bad posting this site as Jaffa said no duties no scrubouts its like I've died and gone to heaven. regards Quinny

hello all I don't have a computer close to me anymore so I just write on this forum when I can. I am now an agency chef and also work at the cowboys club and stadium here in Townsville. I have been to a few Naval Association meetings since I moved back home (I was in SE QLD for a long time- 8 months).
I met this this ex-pussers cook when I was working a shift at RAAF base Townsville. I can't remember the guys name. He has signed up for the Merchant Navy after all these years of been ashore as a cook as a civillian. He works for Serco Sedexho in Townsville.
Haven't met any other cooks.

Shit there's some talent and trouble there !!!!!

Jaffa, just read this one that you posted, christ does it bring back memories, after I finished my course in 70 these blokes you mention,Gunnell,Tubecki,Roberts(chockers)and a bloke by the name of lindsay betters who was the kellick of the crew I joined straight out of the school, man what an experience to work and try to drink with these blokes,an insight to my introduction to the ways of a pussers cook,in the old six block my cabin mates were L,Betters,Jack Styne and Mick (pig Pen )masters who frequently thought my bunk was the heads about two in the morning, great blokes and really helped me in my early days as a pussers fitter & turner, could go on for hours ,but won`t bore u all, but,as I said Jaffa really stirred some memories

Quinny when you contact Chockers ask him how he enjoyed the footy trip to New Zealand, We had a six hour bus trip to Queenstown on the south island so Chockers bought three bottles of bacardi rum and three bottles of coke for the trip.We drank his coke so he drank the rum neat. We were in Queenstown for three days Chockers woke the day we were leaving
