The Reunion Kettle is on the Range
Well boys and Girls the kettle is well and truly on the range and has just about Reached boiling point and seeing as im 3rd duty I will make the brews. Quite a few cooks have spoken to me Either by phone or via the email And in many cases i have had little or no contact from these cooks for in some cases 20 years and a few have had reservations about attending the reunion. One of the main causes of concern was Running into someone they dis liked and Reopening long closed wounds so to speak . I have assured everyone that no one at the last reunion had any axes to grind and we those attending let bygones be bygones and everyone had a ball And i can see no reason for this not to continue . Just looking through the list of those attending now a tad over the 400 I find there are so many I would love to shake hands with .I don't Harbor any grudges and I tend to remember the good times and not any one that may have wronged me. I know so many who share these sentiments.. I was no saint let me tell you and many of us fit into this Category .Lets Face it we have all changed and in a lot of cases for the better . Civvie life will do that to you . Just remember as cooks we are joined by that invisible thread of friendship that only the Navy instills in us all . So any of you out there who are still sitting on the fence wondering whether you should attend I hope this dit allays your concerns .
