This ones easy for me, was 3 Echo Mess HMAS Derwent around '74. A young OD Strawbridge went ashore boasting he was going to get a big eagle tatt on his chest....errr ok! Anyway, steps ashore, comes back later that evening with all of us running up to see how he went. He did have signs of bleeding on his flannel, and then it came off, only to reveal not an eagle, but a little frickin' Tweaty Bird the size of a 20 cent piece??? Sheesh!!! Paul, Not sure if you're talking about the same Strawbridge that joined up with you, however I can assure you he has no tatt's on his chest, there's a few on his arse and No frickin " Tweaty Bird. I should know.!!!! Wow!!! Ok then, might have been another Strawbs, actually good point Annie because I did join with a Strawbridge and could have sworn it was him who went ashore to get the BIG ONE on his chest, or elsewhere HAHAAA! Good stuff, making me muster up those dormant braincells sitting back there somewhere. Anyway, you've got me thinking now if it was indeed Strawbridge, Hussey-Smith rings a bell, could've been him too????????????????? Paul, you'll have to ask him at the reunion, he was on Derwent and he did join up with you but never wanted a tat on his chest. Now if you want to hear a dit about " worst tattoo then here's one. Back in 83/84 when I was at Penguin ( shithole ) they sent me on a course for 6 weeks to the "Tank" anyway on completion of the course Tony Knutson ( The best CPOCK ) got me a posting over to Kuttabul and decided he was going to change my drinking habits and introduce me to Rugby League and take me to watch games etc,. He was a Parramatta supporter and I knew nothing of Rugby League anyway I said I'd follow his team. Well I put the piss on down at Friscos for finishing my course as you do ( End of course smokie ) and decided that night I was going to get a Parramatta emblem tattoo to show my Chief. Well I asked Pelly a LSMTP at Friscos what emblem Parra was and he said he'd come up to the Tatt shop with me. On the Monday morning when I got to work I dropped my cooks pants to show the Chief my new tatt and he burst out " You were with "Pelly" when you got that weren't you ? . Yes why I replied . Well I had a South Sydney Rabbito tatt on my arse. So now I still support the losers , not through choice !!! Nice tatt though
