WHAT YA DOIN ANZAC DAY
I thought i would start this thread to find out what you ex cookies Do on ANZAC DAY. I will be attending the dawn service At Semaphore, a beachside suburb here in a Adelaide. Is a very moving Ceremony with everyone looking out to sea, it's a time of relection for all. Then the RSL has traditional breakfast, then it's off to the march in town for those able to make it. Our numbers thin out each year this year i will march with the Fleet Air Arm i have never marched with them before so it will be good. After the march i head home sometimes getting home at 2300 I only usually have a few on Anzac Day to get the cobwebs out of the system purely medicinal mind you Some of the mini reunions you cookies have look alright to me. If there are any cooks here in Adelaide that would like to meet here in Adelaide after the march or if there is a group that already exists please let me know it would be good to catch up with a few of the Adelaide White Mafia Keep well. Regards to All From Quinny

ANZAC DAY.
I'll be going to the shot gun breakfast and march pass in Southport on the Gold Coast. I've been invited to march with the Naval Association. It always brings a tear to my eye ANZAC day when I think of all the diggers ect who died and the last post..... I just got off the gunplot website. The guys on there are vicious. One of them said he was going to put in a complaint because I'm receiving my ADF medal. I did the paper work and I'm going to the ceremony soon to be presented with it.

kippy- 02-24-2007

Smiddy, Where and when is the presentation to be held, and who will present the medals?

quinny- 02-25-2007

kippy just while we are talking of medals i applied for mine in jan 07 and will be presented with mine at a ceremony in the office of my local member here in Adelaide keep well mate regards quinny

I'll most likely be heading up to the North Coast and ending up at the Maroochydore RSL . There is quite a large gathering of Pussers Cooks who regularly muster at the Maroochydore RSL and in recent years is like a mini reunion. wtf

Anzac Day Port Mcquarie
I'll be attending the Port Macquarie Dawn Service with a small group of Navy Cadets. Then the March with another small group of Cadets. Should be good. The RSL look after the young ones on this day, it's not bad. Off the subject. Had a weekend posting to Penguin a couple of weeks back. Been 20 years since I was there. I get to eat in the Ward Room now. Pretty bad. If we had cooked like that your leading hand would have "filled ya in" even the grounds looked pretty ordinary. I stayed in the old WRANS accomodation. Smelt like mouse crap. Things really have gone to pot. Other than that not much else. If there are any other cookies in the area let me know.

Those were the days, that is what's missing from the Navy today - traditional discipline gun (4)
